Catalyst Recap Two--Malcolm Gladwell

Well here is probly my favorite speaker of the whole conference. He was very smart and I felt like I was in a college class. He used a story from the civil war to get his point across and not one time had to look at his notes. Great guy. Great wisdom. Great leader.

"We think we know more than we actually do"--Wow Malcolm

"We make mistakes because we have too much knowledge"

"People who make mistakes of overconfidence are usually leaders"

"The world around us can change when we are trapped by our arrogance and our overconfidence"

"Humility is the ability to listen to others"--So true

My favorite quote was probly this one right here:
"In times of crisis we do NOT need bold decision makers, what we need is humility from our leaders"

Good stuff. More to come.

This is Weird

So I have been updating alot. Im trying to get back into this thing. I like it. But there is something that is weird. This thing I want to do. This thing I want to do is write a book. Weird? Yes. Very. I dont know why I do. But I do. Im not even the best writer. But I can try.

Catalyst Recap One---Andy Stanley

"What man is a man who does not leave the world better"----Quote told by Stanley from the movie Kingdom of Heaven.

Hear are my favorite quotes from Andy Stanleys opening session entitled "On Your Mark"
Andy Stanley used passages from Joshua 23:8-15 and 5:13-15. What a great session to open it up.

"God has not come to be a part of our story but instead to see if we will be a part of His story"
How true is this. We are called to follow Gods will. God is not called to follow our will.

"We must not be leaders in authority but instead leaders under authority"
We must submit to the leadership of God.

"God takes full responsibility for the life wholly devoted to Him"

"Its not about who is for or against you but about who you are for"

"Our responsibility is to be obedient to God under all circumstances"
When we arent obedient to God then we are sinning. Because delayed obedience is sin.

"Let God have maximum access to your leadership and to all you have"

"Living to make my mark is to small a thing to give my life to"
Meaning we cant spend our life trying to make our mark but instead we should be living to make Gods mark.

"Get in the perfect postion for God to use you"
